Mayo Lake Results

October 16, 2024October 16, 2024 HiberniaLeave a Comment on Mayo Lake Results

It was a beautiful Fall day as the club trekked over to Lake Mayo. Crystal clear water and nearly as clear skies greeted the anglers, along with some ravenous fish. It seemed just about any bait was able to catch fish, with 11 of 16 anglers bringing in a limit. Those anglers weighed 72 fish […]

A smaller than normal crowd headed out to a new spot this week – Roanoke Rapids Lake. The club had not been there in recent memory. Skies were forecast to be quite foreboding, but SURPRISE! The weather people got it wrong again. 15 minutes of rain was all we got. The fishing was pretty darned […]

Limits, limits, limits! 12 of the 15 anglers to weigh in managed to get a limit in their boat. There weren’t any lunkers to be had, but plenty of fun fish to reel in. The 15 anglers brought in 70 fish weighing nearly 130 lbs. Adam led the pack with an 11.90 lb limit and […]

A recent record of 15 teams (27 anglers) headed “Down East” for the Spring trailer tourney. The fishing wasn’t quite awesome, but those that found them did well. The 15 teams weighed in 208 fish topping 465 lbs over the 2 days. Not bad given the high pressure system and heavy winds hanging over the […]

The day was supposed to be a washout, with rain all day, much of it heavy. But once again, and this time in our favor, the weatherman was WRONG! The rain stopped just after blastoff, giving everyone a reprieve. The fishing still wasn’t easy, but some guys figured it out better than others. Adam brought […]

Jordan Lake Results

March 12, 2024March 12, 2024 HiberniaLeave a Comment on Jordan Lake Results

13 anglers made the trip to Lake Jordan hoping to catch some monsters like Hot Rod Johnson in Bait Shop. Unfortunately most ended up starring in a damn spaghetti western – The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. It was good that we had sunny skies and temps in the 50’s, but was bad that […]

The club was very excited and looking forward to our first TEAM tournament in many years; perhaps ever? We chose Hyco since it fishes well in winter and has a launch fee which could be split among the team. Close communication with the Lake Authority left us delighted to know we were the only scheduled […]

As is tradition our season ended with the awards banquet to celebrate the year’s accomplishments. Nearly 40 members and spouses made it to the event hosted at Middleburg Steakhouse in Middleburg, NC. Yummy, yummy, yummy! This year we fished 12 tournaments over 15 days and had some great results: Averaging 18 anglers per tourney we […]

Did you know?

Hibernia is the Classical Latin name for the island of Ireland. The name Hibernia was taken from Greek geographical accounts. During his exploration of northwest Europe (c. 320 BC), Pytheas of Massilia called the island Iérnē (written Ἰέρνη).
