HiberniaThis year’s awards banquet brought us to a new venue – House of Ribeyes in Oxford. Nearly 40 anglers and guests thoroughly enjoyed the steaks and seafood. The filets melted in your mouth!
This year was the genesis of a new event for the club – a TEAM tournament. This naturally yielded a new award: Team big sack. Adam got his big night off to a fast start claiming this with his partner (guest) Mike. They weighed 18.38 lbs on the Chowan.
Next up was the individual big sack, claimed by Barry with his 22.98 lbs on Jordan.
Adam continued his big night claiming big fish for the year – 8.28 lbs on Jordan.
Next up – annual awards. Barry claimed his 2nd trophy with his 3rd place finish for the year.
1st and 2nd place for the year were separated by ONLY ONE POINT. Adam (right) edged out Greg (left) to claim his first club championship in many years.
And finally we have the award for the year’s Most Dedicated Angler. Don always came back to the ramp with a smile and a story (or two). He rarely missed a tournament, and lamented when he did. A very deserved award.
The 2025 season will kick off January 11 at George’s bar. We will plan the schedule and do our best to make rule changes and improvements.
Our 55th season is in the books!
