As is tradition our season ended with the awards banquet to celebrate the year’s accomplishments. Nearly 40 members and spouses made it to the event hosted at Middleburg Steakhouse in Middleburg, NC. Yummy, yummy, yummy!
This year we fished 12 tournaments over 15 days and had some great results:
Averaging 18 anglers per tourney we weighed in 860 fish totaling just under 1700 lbs. We were so closing to topping the 2 lb per fish average. Here’s hoping 2024 is even better.
The night’s first award went to Greg who had the biggest fish of the year – 6.84 lbs at Lake Gaston in our 1st tourney.
Next up was Nate who had the biggest sack of the year at an even 23 lbs on Lake Mayo in March.
3rd place for the year went to Barry with nearly 90 lbs weighed.
2nd place for the year went to Damon with nearly 120 lbs of bass weighed in. Unfortunately he couldn’t make the banquet.
And for the 2nd year in a row, and 4th time in the last 5 years, Greg took home the 1st place award, catching nearly 120 lbs of bass as well.
Finally the Most Dedicated Angler award goes to Troy. This goes to the angler that always shows up and adds value for all. A positive attitude and helpful demeanor make this a very coveted award.
That’s a wrap for 2023. The annual meeting will be January 13, at which time we will set the schedule for 2024. We may also have some good eats and brews.
Cheers!
