Summer is here! Temps approaching 90 degrees greeted the anglers this past Sunday on Kerr Lake, along with a gaggle of googans. Blue skies were blessed with the intermittent cloud, providing much needed relief from the heat. The fish didn’t seem to mind too much – they were biting, but just enough to tease…
Despite losing his trolling motor around 8am, Blaine managed to find the best fish, bringing a limit of 11.26 lbs to the scales for the win. He’s having a heck of a year – too bad hunting season will likely derail any championship hopes.
Boat troubles seemed to be a theme for the day, though oddly a good one. This dude lost his gas motor around 9am and had to be towed around the lake. When you’re as cool as this dude, that doesn’t matter. A limit weighing 10.71 lbs, anchored by the day’s big bass at 5.30 lbs, left him enough to take his lovely wife out for dinner AND get his motor fixed.
Summer break is now officially upon us. The anglers will rest, tune up their boats and restring some rods to prep for the Fall events. We will head to Chowan to start the Fall flurry in September.
