This year we brought back an old club tradition where the anglers take their ladies out for a (half) day on the lake. It lets the guys be guides for a day, and lets their wives better understand the highs and lows of fishing. Couple that with a picnic for everyone afterwards and you have yourself a heck of a Sunday.

Club founder Robert was nice enough to host at his pavilion right next to the Hibernia ramp. His cohort Gene helped set up the tables and chairs, supposedly to keep them out of trouble. Regardless the effort was much appreciated.

The winner of the day was “Mrs Ricky”, aka Debbie. Turns out she only needed one fish to win the day (fishing was TOUGH), but she decided to bring 3 to the scales anyway, just to show off a bit. We hope she will defend her crown next year, perhaps with a bigger field…

Despite the small turnout, the event was a success. Many anglers had conflicts this year, so hopefully next year we can grow the event and keep the tradition going.
