Once again we were greeted with cold temps and bluebird skies. Mother Nature was yet again ready to shutdown the lake on our tourney day. One frustrated angler quipped “I’ve thrown everything today. I even threw up!”
For a few anglers though, that was not a problem.
Wunderkind Nolan was back to his “old” tricks crushing the men at their own game. He brought in a limit of 15.83 lbs, bolstered by the day’s big fish at 5.34 lbs. While most of us were scratching our heads all day, he was calmly working the cull beam.

Proud father Damon was happy to watch his son win the day, but still wanted a piece of the action himself. He brought the only other limit to the scales, 11.90 lbs, good for 2nd place.

Continuing his strong rookie campaign, Nate cruised into 3rd with 3 fish for 10.02 lbs. New members have done well the last few years – maybe he can keep it going all year.

And grabbing the last dash of cash, continuing in his bid for comeback member of the year (don’t call it a comeback!), Stevie also brought 3 fish to the scales weighing 6.96 lbs for 4th place.

Next up we head East to the Chowan region for some river fishing. Hopefully we can all bag limits!
