Having skipped Lake Gaston during peak pleasure boating season, we headed back in October to see what we could scrape up. As much as it rained during the day, it wouldn’t have mattered when we fished there – it would have been empty. It started raining at 7, just after blast off, and rained straight through until weigh-in around 3:30. Pick a type of rain mentioned in Forrest Gump – we saw it that day.
Damon’s rain gear was clearly working as he took home the “W” for the day. His limit of 8.84 lbs was enough for the win, but not enough to get his picture taken. It was his 5th win of the year, winning both tourneys on Gaston.
Zack continued his impressive rookie season sneaking in for another cash. His limit of 8.78 lbs BARELY missed the W, but his 3.45 kicker was enought o win big fish on the day.
Our 12th and final tournament for the year will take place where it all started – Kerr Lake, Hibernia ramp. TWO days – October 30 and 31. Our champion for the year will be crowned, and a tight race for 3rd will finish up as well.
