The start of the day saw yet another beautiful day to go fishing. No. Wait. Scratch that. It was once again cold, and this time also rainy when the 16 anglers blasted from the Ivy Hill ramp. This was the second tournament in a row with more than 15 anglers, allowing us to pay a 3rd spot. Keep the guests coming, and let’s add a few more members and continue to grow in our 51st year as a club!
New member Zach got the leg up on everyone, bringing in a limit of 14.69 lbs, anchored by the day’s big fish or 3.78 lbs. I learned this was only the 5th or so time Zach had been to Kerr, so he wasn’t that familiar with it. Word is he got a map of the lake and broke it down beforehand, finding the fish and earning the W. Just think what he will be able to do once he’s fished it a few times!
In second place was Tyler, finally back boating his angler Blaine. His limit of 10.74 lbs barely edged two other 10 lb sacks. The student has become the master.
And in 3rd place comes ole reliable Greg. His 10.45 lbs just edged into the last pay spot. We didn’t get a pic, so let’s just grab one from the library…
Next we head to Shearon Harris, where we hope to catch plenty of bass, most of which will be returned to the lake due to the slot. Oh well – at least they’re fun to catch!
